ERTICO's activities are carried out by its Brussels-based Team after approval by its Supervisory Board.
Supervisory Board The ERTICO Supervisory Board has the overall role of providing strategy and guidance to ERTICO's overall operations. According to the ERTICO Statutes, the official duties of the Board are to:
- establish strategic guidelines for the Chief Executive Officer
- approve the annual budget and work plan
- approve new Partners or resignations
- appoint the CEO
- establish the agenda for the General Assembly

Members are elected at the annual General Assembly. To ensure continuity, the Partners agreed to maintain the same Board members, Chairman and President & Spokesman for a period of three years – even if there is a statutory election every year. Supranational authorities such as the European Commission and the ECMT may participate in Supervisory Board meetings, but without voting rights.
