General News: New York sets the stage for hands-on ITS experience

Technical Tours: Technical tours at the 15th World Congress will enable you to experience New York’s most innovative ITS systems. A broad range of technical tours will be available to delegates.  These tours will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including the New York State Department of Transportation’s INFORM Center on Long Island, as well as transport facilities of major significance, such as the George Washington Bridge, known as “the busiest vehicular crossing in the world.”  Tours will be offered Monday, November 17, through Thursday, November 20, and will depart from the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Technical Demonstrations: This World Congress will feature the largest fully-integrated demonstration showcasing vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-roadside communication technologies and services operating on the streets and highways of New York. The demonstrations will include:
Safety System Demonstrations: Several automobile manufacturers and suppliers including General Motors, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Southwest Research Institute, and Toyota will be demonstrating the latest in active safety systems. 

Autonomous Vehicle Demonstrations: Several teams will be demonstrating their autonomous vehicles—including driverless vehicles that participated in the DARPA Urban Challenge.
