General News: Save the date for “ICT in Transport Logistics” workshop

GOOD ROUTE and EURIDICE are pleased to invite you to the joint GOOD ROUTE and EURIDICE International workshop, organised with the support of SMARTFREIGHT and ROADIDEA European Projects, “ICT in Transport Logistics” to be held at Lucerne, Switzerland, from Monday the 3rd of November to Wednesday the 5th of November 2008.

This International Workshop aims to bring together all stakeholders in the area of transport logistics, such as experts, developers and senior representatives from companies and organisations involved in logistics and road transportation, as well as representatives from the European Commission.

During the workshop, the GOOD ROUTE Closing Event will take place where the results of the GOOD ROUTE project will be presented and discussed. The workshop will also include plenary and keynote presentations from key stakeholders such as the European Commission, logistics chain representatives, transport authorities, researchers etc.

GOOD ROUTE is an EU co-funded targeted research project which aims at developing a cooperative system for dangerous goods vehicles through route monitoring, re-routing, enforcement and driver support, based upon dynamic, real time data. The ultimate aim is to minimise the societal risks related to dangerous goods transport, while still generating the most cost efficient solution for all actors involved in the logistic chain. EURIDICE is an Integrated Project co-funded by the EU, ICT programme. The basic concept of EURIDICE is to build an information services platform centred on the individual cargo item and on its interaction with the surrounding environment and the user.
