Partner News: New partnerships across Europe for Octo Telematics
Date: 03 October 2008
With these two partners, Octo Telematics increases the total number of its partnerships to 36 client-insurance companies worldwide. Thanks to Octo Telematics’ integrated telematics solution, Amaline Assurances launched Amaguiz, a new generation “Pay as you Drive” insurance that offers extremely competitive rates and allows the client to pay according to the kilometres actually driven. The innovative telematic platform Clear Box, installed on-board, tracks the data, through GPS and forwards them to the Octo Telematics’ Multiservice Centre via a GPRS mobile network.
The information is made available to the insurance company that shares it with the insurance policy holder. Amaguiz also includes the possibility for the user to choose among a range of value added service options, developed and managed by Octo Telematics: crash management in case of car accident, including a precise crash dynamics reconstruction together with real time assistance service, and recovery of stolen vehicles in case of theft.
From 19th September, Aviva France is testing its brand new usage-based insurance ‘Pack Avantage Kilometres’ in Paris, before the national roll-out scheduled for 2009. Thanks to the innovative telematic platform Clear Box and the Octo Telematics’ Multiservice Centre, the new insurance product allows young drivers, aged between 18 and 25 years who have never been insured before, to benefit from lower premiums and costs, calculated according to the kilometres actually driven and to the travel time frames.
Octo Telematics is also consolidating its operations in the Spanish market as the official provider of Mapfre Y Generation project. This innovative project aims at promoting more responsible driving amongst the young, through a new insurance model designed and developed in partnership with Octo Telematics. Today, the Mapfre Y Generation offer has more than 10.000 subscribers.
As part of yet another Octo success stories, Harald Trautsch, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Chief Operating Officer for Octo Telematics, has been officially nominated by the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology as the Austrian Delegate for the EU eCall Implementation Platform.
