Partner News: VTT strengthens research cooperation in China

ERTICO – ITS Europe Partner VTT Technical research Centre of Finland has signed a cooperation agreement with the Laboratory of Advanced Forming Technology at Tsinghua University, and with technology transfer company Coway International Techtrans Co. Ltd. This strengthens VTT’s commercialisation activities in the Chinese market and will bring valuable Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) income to VTT.

VTT and the Laboratory of Advanced Forming Technology will start collaboration in the R&D of heat resistant steel components using the PSF (Precision Spray Forming) process. Application of this technology is foreseen in rapid manufacturing of such demanding components as turbine discs and different molding tools. The collaboration enhances the research cooperation with Tsinghua University, considered one of the top universities in China.
 
Coway focuses on promoting international cooperation between enterprises in China and abroad by promoting international technology transfer. Coway will handpick the best suited technologies for the Chinese market from the extensive VTT patent portfolio.
