Project News: FOT-Net International Workshop to be held in New York
Date: 31 October 2008
We are pleased to invite you to the first FOT-Net International Workshop in the Jacob Javits Convention Centre in New York on 20 November 2008 from 5 pm to 8 pm (Room 1E04). The Workshop will gather representatives from US, Japanese and European Field Operational Tests (FOT) activities to discuss the needs for cooperation on FOTs across regions. The workshop will be followed by a networking reception starting at 8 pm. FOT-Net is a support action funded by the European Commission to network Field Operational Test activities at European, national and international level. In order to exchange information about Field Operational Test activities and foster cooperation with North America and Japan, two international FOT-Net workshops have been planned. The first FOT-Net International Workshop in New York on 20 November 2008 aims to investigate the possibilities for cooperation between regions on various topics: • Methodologies: Commonalities and differences across the regions • Comparison of results: How to compare FOT results and data? Should we synchronise research questions and performance indicators? • Data handling: relevance and willingness to establish a data exchange platform and how it could be organised. • Deployment issues: How to accelerate deployment after a FOT? What are the decision criteria leading to policy or market driven deployment? Is there a need for concrete examples and eventually best practices?
